Urban Forest Pest Virtual Summit

  • E3 Washington 1143 Martin Luther King Way #48 Seattle, WA 98122 United States (map)

The Washington Invasive Species Council and the Urban and Community Forestry Program at the Washington Department of Natural Resources have been collaborating with other experts in the field to plan and host a free Urban Forest Pest Virtual Summit. This will take place on Zoom over two days, October 17 and 18, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The target audience includes arborists, urban foresters, natural resource managers, Master Gardeners, and anyone else interested in pests that threaten urban trees. The International Society of Arboriculture has awarded 6.5 Continuing Education Units for the entire event.

Please see the attached flyer for more information on the topics that will be covered! Agenda items range from response structures, reporting, program spotlights, and current pests of concern. Ultimately, the goal of this summit is to build on existing invasive species preparedness plans such as the Urban Forest Pest Readiness Playbook, while promoting and enhancing municipal forest pest readiness.
